Proofreading and Copy Editing Services

I copy edit English academic journal articles in American Psychological Association (APA), Chicago Manual of Style (CMOS), and proprietary scientific styles (American Medical Association or AMA), implementing the following tools of the trade:

  • Microsoft Word with Track Changes,
  • Adobe Acrobat Pro with Cobweb stamps to show edits,
  • PerfectIt, and
  • Google docs.

I have also recently copy edited a PhD thesis in computer engineering so am happy to consider further work of this nature. Another field I have copy edited theses in is psychology.

I also recently completed the publishing program at Toronto Metropolitan University (TMU), earning a Publishing Certificate in 2024.

As well as working as a serious copy editor, I am currently also proofreading in English and French. I have a strong base in the two pillars of Editors Canada standards:

  1. Copy editing and
  2. Proofreading.

I have proofread and stylized English and French financial documents, as well as mutual fund regulatory filings in Canada. Some recent feedback from clients includes the following:
